Companies like Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki and Polaris are the market leaders in ATVs; therefore, their parts are more available than lesser-known brands. The various parts available are tires, batteries, gas tanks, brakes, cables, ramps, seats, exhausts, levers, seat covers, pistons, rings, gaskets, chain, mufflers, sprockets, bearings, seals, lift kits, heat fighter kits, fenders, bumpers, air filters, handlebars, and ATV exhausts. Another important part is an ATV repair manual. Some repair manuals are graphic in nature, and are more helpful. Air filters also play an important role in increasing the pickup of an ATV. Installing a good air filter can increase the pickup of an ATV by almost one HP. ATV guards and radiator grills are used to guard the ATV from damage due to rocks and debris. Two kinds of metals are used for these grills: stainless steel and alloy. Sometimes the stainless steel grills are highly polished, which gives them a mirror finish. They are also useful against ram-air and force-air effects. The sub-frame guards are useful both to add to the grace of the ATV as well as guard it from damage. The sub-frame guard covers and guards the various parts of the ATV, like the exhaust system, electrical system and hot pipe. Carburetors play a major part in increasing the pickup of an ATV. Therefore, a large high-performance carburetor is always preferred. Generally, carburetors are available in the market as part of a Carburetor kit. The kit comes complete with pre-jetted carburetor, choice of whirlpull type or thumb-throttle cable, manifold (if necessary), and all necessary hardware for an easy installation. Crankshaft kits for ATVs are available on the market. The kits are sold complete with rods, top-end bearings and inner ATV crankshaft webs. The multi-ATV cylinder applications come with main bearings. ATV connecting rod kits consist of an ATV rod, crank pin, crank pin bearing, top-end bearing and thrust washers. |
