House, MD. (Or, How I Choose To Live My Life Outside Of A House)

Author: Jens Hendrikkson

I couldn't reproduce the "MacPherson's Effect" (not a real effect) Fox produces with the little box around the H which turns into an underline, but I tried really, really hard. After hearing much hype, etc. about this show I decided to give old "House" a chance, thinking it had something to do with Doogie Hauser. I was quickly appalled to find out that not only did it have nothing to do with Doogie, it had very little to do with any sort of House. I believe House's House makes a cameo, but it is very brief and leaves you feeling ripped off. Much like the "cameo" X-Man Remy LeBeau aka Gambit makes in X-Men 2: His name shows up on a list.

I had absolutely no idea what was happening in the show because I missed the first 2 minutes of it until about 35 minutes in. As it turns out, House is actually a guy who's into medicine in some way. I couldn't tell if they were in a hospital or a clinic or a university or what, so I made up a song:

This house is your house,
This house is my house,
House makes me happy,
Cause his name is House.

Speaking of House, the Ultra-Cool "House" Series deserves a watching. Made in the later part of the 80's, the movies House I, II, and IV are about a cynical House, who, to be, seems confused as to if its really evil or not. I mean, it produces blood from the showers, but doesn't do any killing. Conflicting. House III was never made for some reason. Seriously.

Anyway, back to House, M.D. So this guy House hobbles around (for some reason) solving irrational medical mysteries that are happening in the place where he practice medicine/witchcraft. It throws in a bunch of nonsense character development about House evolving from a hardnosed do-gooder to a hardnosed slightly better do-gooder, as usual to Fox programming. When will they understand that the Fox audience feeds off of plot holes and fancy computer generated graphics and leave the plot out.

Watching people with imaginary diseases on House can be entertaining, but you'd have to be having a good time already.

I give it 6 black and white TVs out of 9 colour TVs (Watch House, M.D. if the only other thing to do is watch the House Trilogy. On second thought, just don't watch it).
